EMMA (Elder Mobile Monitoring Assistant) supports independent living and reduces by 90% the fear of falling. The sensor is based on machine learning algorithms. EMMA monitors activity and tasks of the elder. EMMA learns the walking pattern of the person wearing it and so is able to discriminate about normal walking patterns and dangerous ones. In case of dangers EMMA can send emails, sms or call a predefined list of contacts. The product is composed by a wrist sensor and a base station and the software/firmware for fall detection.
The technology is proprietary in terms of adaptive algorithms capable of learning walking patterns and predicting dangerous postures.
EMMA connects to EMMA Hub,allowing the user to add additional sensors such as pulse rate monitors, blood pressure monitors and home automation devices.
