BluetoothRSSI Pro

Posted on August 20, 2011

This bluetooth utility accomplish a very simple but useful task:

discover Blueooth devices and report their RSSI.
RSSI stands for Received Signal Strength Indicator and can be used to have an idea of how fare is the device in free space or how much power is received in an indoor environment.
In free space condition you could even calculate the distance between your device and the discovered device by using a quadratic relationship for the EM field.

There is a detailed technical description on the info page about the functionality.

The application is based on the Amarino Toolkit which is being supported by a large community of developers and thus provide very high reliability and I believe is the only
free application in the Android market which really works without any glitch.

enjoy!

Beta Locator: be safe, drive safe

Posted on July 12, 2011

BetaLocator is an automatic geo locator of car accidents and thus the best buddy for every car driver.

BetaLocator works on the same principle of an Airbag: it measures your car acceleration and if an impact is detected, an SMS is sent to your contact list with the exact geographical GPS location.

BetaLocator is more advanced than an Airbag, because you can setup the threshold for the impact detection.

The detector is based on a simple but effective AI approach which uses artificial neurons
(yes like the one you have in your brain) to reliably detect the impact. The basic version in the Android market does not contain the GPS location feature, which is included in the commercial one that costs only 4 GBP.

The free version is available on the android webpage.
The full version is available on the android webpage.
